User research aims to discover users characteristics, behaviours and needs. I use interviews, questionnaires, focus groups and card sorting to collect these data.
Personas are the imaginary people who represent the end users of the system. My purpose is to make them look realistic with names, roles and images.
User journeys deal with users’ paths on a system and set priorities. My main concern is to draw the smoothest journey and determine what is critical to the target audience.
Sitemaps define the different pages and visualise their interconnections. I work to specify the content structure, and give useful and findable information.
Wireframes stand for the user interface design without any glossy details, graphs and colours. I lay out content and functionality creating low or high fidelity, static wireframes or interactive ones (prototypes) giving a cognitive representation of the product.
Graphic design is the stage where the information is communicated visually with glossy details, graphs and colours. My principle is to create simple and pleasant interfaces.
Usability testing evaluates the product by testing it on potential users. The usability testing methods I use include a/b testing , usability lab and heuristic review.
UX audit includes the analysis of those factors which affect product usability. I review user interface from a user experience point of view, and produce reports with issues and recommendations. Some areas of analysis include navigation, layout, information architecture, functionality, look & feel, performance.
